Purpose and Mission
The Edward G. Njie Scholarship
Fund was established in 2004 to provide qualified Gambian students with educational support based on need. The Scholarship
Fund provides financial support related to students' educational and related expenses. It is open to students interested in
pursuing their education and starts at any level. Financial support is provided until students complete their programs as
long as they continue to maintain acceptable academic performance as stipulated by individual educational institutions. The
number of awardees is determined annually based on available funding. Students enrolled in college or sixth form are considered
for awards based on merit.
The Scholarship Fund provides students with the opportunity to pursue their educational
goals; young and creative minds who will contribute to building the future of The Gambia.
